  18. Sun has had a proprietary UNIX, meaning they won't let you have a
  19. source licence to port Solaris to your platform of choice, sure. But
  20. that's not what's really necessary. Unlike Apple, Sun has Solaris in
  21. shrinkwrap for the PC, for non-Sun SPARC machines, and Real Soon Now
  22. for the PowerPC. That's already more open that Apple has been to date,
  23. just what Microsoft has been doing all along with PClones.

  32. Apple's patents aren't worth anywhere near what you'd pay for
  33. Apple. Like most technology companies, sure, they have their share of
  34. patents, but nothing you're going to pay billions for. The MacOS and
  35. market are Apple's assets.
